Battle Creek is located on the shore line of Lake Vermillion. This is a great recreational area for camping, hunting, fishing and snowmobile enthusiasts. The Convenience Store/Bait Shop operates year around. Open to campers, local residents, and travelers, Battle Creek has become a well-known meeting place for camping, recreation, and good food and spirits. Battle Creek is located just 5 miles south of I-90, 25 miles west of Sioux Falls and just a little over 5 miles east of Canistoda. Battle Creek has 42 camper sites and 10 tent sites. The campground is full on weekends and stays 60-75% full weekdays. The campground opens on May 1st, we begin taking reservations on April 1st for the camping season. Friday and Saturday nights are "House Special Prime Rib" night. We start serving when the Steakhouse opens and the special is on until the Prime Rib is gone.
Battle Creek Bait Shop and Store is open seven days-a-week. We are currently running our Winter hours of Monday thru Friday from 9:00 AM until we get a chance to close. Saturday and Sunday we open at 8:00 AM.
Battle Creek Steakhouse and Lounge is open 7 Days a Week at 5:00 PM starting Memorial Weekend. We have a full variety of well prepared food including Appetizers, Burgers and Sandwiches, Steaks & Chops, Chicken (including buckets-to-go), Fish, Seafood and salads. Refreshments include coffee, tea, milk, fountain, can and bottle pop, tomato juice, bottled, can and tap beer, wine coolers, Cocktails of Well and Call drinks, plus 1919 Root Beer on tap. We pride ourselves in our good food and clean environment.
